The book and lesson themes that are covered include: measurement, pumpkin life cycle, France, French words, telling time, fairy tales, princess manners, and forgiveness. This unit study is based on the story by Charels Perrault and is for Level 2 students. They had to change the names and the events, and they weren’t allowed to tell which fairy tale they were basing their modern fairy tales off of. Many years ago when I taught middle school, I had my students take a fairy tale and re-tell it in a modern day setting. Did you know that February 26 is National Tell a Fairy Tale Day? It is!
